Tropical Storm Irene

Alix and Chance hunkered down to wait out Tropical Storm Irene.  We had heavy rain and some strong winds but not as severe as we were expecting.  We lost power twice for a few hours.  

Happily the avocado tree survived the storm. We were able to witness just how flexible those branches are.

Daily Dose

New School Shoes

Alix chose these rainbow-stitched converse sneakers as her school shoes.  We also had to purchase several pairs of shoelaces to mix and match.  She's thrilled.  And I'm thrilled I made her day by saying "yes". 

Slow and Steady

 Short walks down the street. Neko is so patient.

Working from Home

With a torn MCL, Paul will be working from home this week.  And our annual remote camping trip is canceled.  All because of a wiffle ball.
