Mellow Week
It was a rather mellow week. Boring, humdrum, monotonous, mundane, ordinary even. Not really blog worthy.
- Snow greeted us two mornings -- just a couple inches each time.
- Alix cashed in her salon gift certificate and had her hair highlighted. She's happy with the results.
- I tried one new recipe, Baked Artichoke Pasta. The recipe came together quickly and everyone but Alix liked it.
- I gave up reading Swamplandia after about sixty pages. I really wanted to like this, but it just didn't grab me.
- Since all of us have cell phones now I called and reduced our home phone to the basic plan reducing our bill by $40 a month. The next step will be to eliminate the land line all together.
- Friday night's movie was The Invention of Lying. Paul and I have watched it before without the kids. Chance thought it was very funny and Alix thought it was one of the stupidest movies she's seen.
good to see you :)
ReplyDeleteyour daughters hair turned out nice. I like it. I think it will be another boring day around here. the roads are very icy this morning. I LOVE all the books behind you. Have a good day!
Hi Pam! Your posts are never unblogworthy - they always make my day and I'm totally excited when I see a new post of yours in my google reader! ;)
ReplyDeleteI wish we had some of your snow. NC has had no winter. Zero. Our tree in the front yard thinks it is spring.
I won't be trying Swamplandia (just checked our library website and they only have it as an ebook - does that mean it isn't book worthy? I put your movie recommend on hold.
Like Denise above, I'm loving the photo of you and the books. I see smoochie Bill Bryson (just checked out his "Shakespeare" today and looking forward to reading it this weekend).
Bill Bryson is a favorite at our house. I haven’t read “Shakespeare” yet. You’ll have to let me know what you think. “Thunderbolt Kid” is one of my favorites.
