Mellow Week

It was a rather mellow week.  Boring, humdrum, monotonous, mundane, ordinary even.  Not really blog worthy.

  • Snow greeted us two mornings -- just a couple inches each time.
  • Alix cashed in her salon gift certificate and had her hair highlighted.  She's happy with the results.

  • I tried one new recipe, Baked Artichoke Pasta.  The recipe came together quickly and everyone but Alix liked it.
  • I gave up reading Swamplandia after about sixty pages.    I really wanted to like this, but it just didn't grab me.
  • Since all of us have cell phones now I called and reduced our home phone to the basic plan reducing our bill by $40 a month.  The next step will be to eliminate the land line all together.
  • Friday night's movie was The Invention of Lying.   Paul and I have watched it before without the kids.  Chance thought it was very funny and Alix thought it was one of the stupidest movies she's seen.

  2. Hi Pam! Your posts are never unblogworthy - they always make my day and I'm totally excited when I see a new post of yours in my google reader! ;)

I wish we had some of your snow. NC has had no winter. Zero. Our tree in the front yard thinks it is spring.

I won't be trying Swamplandia (just checked our library website and they only have it as an ebook - does that mean it isn't book worthy? I put your movie recommend on hold.

Like Denise above, I'm loving the photo of you and the books. I see smoochie Bill Bryson (just checked out his "Shakespeare" today and looking forward to reading it this weekend).

    1. Bill Bryson is a favorite at our house. I haven’t read “Shakespeare” yet. You’ll have to let me know what you think. “Thunderbolt Kid” is one of my favorites.
