8.March to 10.March

8.March

:: Friday
  • Paul shoveled the 4" of snow we woke to before he left for work. Our school was cancelled while most schools in the area had a 2-hour delay.
  • I postponed my coffee date with Liz.
  • Gabby and Addia come over for a bit to hang with Alix.
  • Pulled out the pile of mail and got sorting and paying bills.  I love spreading everything out.  Also starting using a new budget ledger I bought.  Perhaps my affection of paper and pencil will cause me to use this more than a computer program.
  • Alix sleeps over Mari's
  • Felt the need for Paul and I to go out for the evening with some friends.  A text to Diane confirms plans for getting together at Milly's Tavern in Manchester.  Paul and I have a great time and our $16 bar tab for four craft-brewed beers and two appetizers can't be beat.  After dropping the car off at home and getting Neko we walk over to Jon and Diane's to continue the evening.  After few more cocktails and more munchies we walk home at midnight.  The first evening of Date Weekend is fabulous.

:: Saturday
  • Slept a little late
  • Bagels at The Works
  • Persuaded Jon, Diane and Mesa to walk with Paul, Neko and I on the West End Farm trail.  We walked through the corn snow from Dimond Hill Farm to District 5 Road and back.  (about 4.5 miles)
  • Blue sky and temps in the high 50's.  Spring feels closer.
  • Alix arrived home from Mari's around 5:30.
  • We worked up quite an appetite.  Surf and Turf is on the menu at our house.  We supply the steak tips and crash-hot potatoes and Diane brings the best crab cakes.  We called it a night by 9:00ish.

:: Sunday
  • Changed the clocks.
  • Had another leisurely morning.
  • After breakfast, we walked Neko and ran into Lucy out walking.  She invited us back to her house for lattes.  We sat outside soaking in the sun enjoying our caffeine.
  • While talking we all agreed it would be a good night for Paul's fish burritos.  Lucy and John brought the margaritas.
