Today was Paul's company's annual Summer Party. This year the party was held at Lake Massasecum in Bradford, NH a short ride from Concord. We had never heard of the lake and were pleasantly surprised with how clear the water was. We took the two kayaks and the canoe.
We had a small problem with our trip there. On I-89 one of the kayaks blew off the roof, tumbled down the highway and slammed into the guardrail in the median. Thankfully we did not cause an accident. When Paul recovered the kayak it was amazingly fine, with only a few scratches. My first thought after realizing we didn't cause an accident was "Is Paul going to be able to build another kayak before our vacation at Umbagog in three weeks." We were so surprised there was no damage.
Everyone was happy that Paul brought the boats and most everyone took a turn taking them out. The weather was perfect. It was the first day it didn't rain in I don't know how long. Alix and Chance spent most of the time in the water or in one of the kayaks. I personally had a great time. The last several years I have not attended the summer party with Paul and the kids. I was glad I went this year. I was able to connect with some of sales staff that Paul is now working with in his new sales position.
After a long day being outside we came home snugged on the couch with bowls of popcorn and watched the Disney movie Song of the South.
