The meteorologists predicted 8-10 inches. We woke to twenty-two inches of very heavy compacted snow. Lots of tree branches and trees down in our neighborhood. The power was out overnight, coming back on just in time for Sunday breakfast. Paul and I fueled up and got to shoveling. I was so glad he was home for this storm.

October Snowstorm
With the excitement mounting over the predication of ten inches of snow I hastily unpacked snowpants, jackets, boots (hoping they would still fit), hats and mittens so that we could take a late night family walk around the neighborhood. The snow was falling heavy and furiously. Immediately snowballs were formed and thrown at a sister, brother and dad. (Mom was reprieved as the holder of the camera). The snowball fight paused long enough for snow angels to be made. We oohed and awed at the beauty of the snow-laden leaf-covered trees. And the entire time we marveled at the thought it was only October.

This should not happen
We woke to a dusting of snow this morning. Snow on my hydrangeas should not happen. More snow in the forecast for tomorrow night -- upwards of eight inches.
