Off the River and to the Mountain

The birds had us awake early (5:15) after a good night's sleep. I was so grateful for my camp pad. We passed on making breakfast and opted to wait until we got home. The paddle back with the current was effortless. We arrived back in Concord by 8:00. After a hearty breakfast we decided to drive to Antrim and hike Bald Mountain at Willard Pond. The weather granted us another beautiful day.

I mentioned to Paul how I always bring up the rear on our hikes which leaves me hiking alone while the rest of the family is way head. The thoughtful gentleman that he is he let me set the pace. What a different hiking experience. I enjoyed the walk without feeling I had to catch up and we were able to continue our conversation from last night.

On the way home we stopped at Twelve Pine in Peterborough for some home-made Gelato eaten on the patio.
