Day Four

  • Alix and Chance are up early and make their own breakfast.
  • Clouds come in and we get ready for rain that may be coming.
  • Rain comes after breakfast. While raining we play Phase 10.
  • Rain stops and we pack for boating adventure.
  • Winds pick up and lake turns to white-caps. We paddle hard to mouth of Sunday Cove.
  • We head to the right of the cove entrance and find a tiny inlet to park the boats and have a snack.
  • Paul paddles out in the kayak to ride the white caps. He gives A&C rides. Wind is blowing hard.

  • We have lunch of rice and bean burritos. Good hot food for a cool windy day.
  • I spend time reading The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society. I am really enjoying it.
  • I explore the island taking photos.
  • Paul starts fire early to burn down the coals to cook potato, onion and sausage packages.
  • Chance makes bow and arrow.
  • Alix and Chance play on the climbing rock.

  • Wind has finally calmed down. I am hoping for calmer weather tomorrow.
  • Paul and I talk again about finding a way for him and I to make a trip like this without A&C.
  • Sketch pads come out.
  • A happy, happy find. While looking through one of the pockets of a duffel bag I find a pair of my knitted socks that I brought camping last year and couldn't find.
  • Full moon is spectacular.
