Pushed too Hard

I received a call from the school nurse this afternoon.  Chance was pushed down on the playground and was complaining his arm hurt.  I told her I would be there as soon as possible.  And as I raced through the house gathering my things I remembered I did not have my car today.  After a call to my "go to" friend Anne, I was pedaling to her house to borrow her car to take Chance to see his Doc.

After an examination and reading of the X-rays it was determined C's collarbone was broken on the left side.  He was outfitted with a Figure-8 Clavicle Brace (see pic below which obviously is not Chance).  He'll get to wear this for the next 3-6 weeks, or as his Doctor told him, "When you can do a push-up without any pain." Chance was horrified that he would have to wear this.  He has a higher pain threshold than he does an embarrassment threshold.

He spent the rest of the afternoon resting as comfortably as possible watching movies.
