Snippets of a Day

• 5:30am slowly swim 11 laps

• 6:45 watch Paul (with Chance cheering him on and taking photos) very carefully open the havahart trap to release a young skunk -- not the groundhog we had hoped to trap

• 10:30 waiting patiently while my Ethiopian coffee seeps listening to Alix and Chance play outside

• 11:15 Chance reads to me from Percy Jackson The Sea of Monsters while I knit the heel flap of a sock

• 11:45 Alix reads to me from The Creep from the Deep while I turn the heel on same sock

• 1:00 eat lunch, Black bean and corn salad, while listening to Shrek soundtrack




• 8:45 evening walk with Paul. First night of the summer that the air is thick with humidity.

• 9:30 into bed to try to finish reading Play: How It Shapes the Brain, Opens the Imagination, and Invigorates the Soul
